New Delhi to Mandawa

Early morning start with the tour this morning. Breakfast at 6am and left hotel before 7am.

Drove to the Delhi train station area where we did an early morning city walk with a guide called Junaid. He used to live on the streets from the age of 8 to 12 years old. He had an amazing story of survival until someone helped him go into a home. And now he’s doing tours and helping other kids himself.

Got back on the bus and headed out of Delhi.

Stopped for a beautiful buffet lunch which had vegetable pakora, rice, dhal, butter chicken, vegetable spaghetti and naan bread. It was delicious and 700 rupees which is about $14.

Went on to Mandawa where we stayed at a beautiful Haveli which is house that has been renovated into hotel rooms. Went on a walking tour around the village and saw another haveli that’s being renovated.

As we were walking around, we could hear men chanting loudly. A big group walked past us and in the middle they were carrying a dead man on a stretcher up above their heads. His body was covered but face wasn’t. Very confronting to see but interesting.
