Jojawa to Pushkar
Left the palace hotel in jeeps and drove about half an hour to the train station. Boarded the train and waited for around an hour as the train driver didn’t turn up 🤣. Once we were underway, saw some waterfalls, lakes and nice views. By time the hour trip ended, my bum was pretty numb from the hard seats.
Then on the bus to Pushkar. Once we checked into the hotel, we caught tuk tuks down to the lake. It’s a holy temple site and you can’t wear shoes here, so our guide had made us all take our shoes off and carry them. Went down to the lake and sat on the steps and out our shoes down. Then a man came out yelling and screaming about us being disrespectful by putting our shoes down. Our guide tried to tell him we weren’t but he was crazy yelling. We ended up leaving. As we walked past him, he then tried to sell us ecstasy 🤣🤣🤣. A unique way to advertise his wares. Pushkar is a meat, alcohol and drug free city, so they have a problem with illegal drugs.
Lots of shopping to do here. The shops look the best we’ve seen so far. Although the constant hassling is getting tiring.
After a long wait for our pizza for dinner (vegetarian of course), tuk tuks back to the hotel for bed.
