Ranthambore

Started the day with an early morning drive to Ranthambore Fort and then a walk up 315 steps to the Fort. On the way, we saw some deer, mongoose and a couple of beautiful kingfishers that were bright blue and red.

The fort was built in the 10th century and was amazing because all of the materials to build would have had to be carried up by hand or donkey. We even saw some donkeys carrying stones up as they were doing some repairs.

After that, back to the hotel where I had a sleep. I’ve picked up a cold and felt pretty terrible. Giri got some medicine from the doctor for me and it was less than $2 Australian for all of it 😂. I need to stock up!

After lunch, we went on the safari to spot tigers. It was an open top truck with seats and bars along the side to stop animals from getting us. Unfortunately we didn’t spot any tigers. The guide said at this time of year, there’s only a 20-30% chance of seeing tigers. Looks like I’ll have to come back 🇮🇳. We did see deer, elks, crocodiles and lots of birds.

Still wasn’t feeling the best when we got back, so I missed dinner and went straight to bed.
